Greenways Receive $50,000 from Novozymes
This week Roanoke Valley Greenways accepted a generous dontaion from Novozymes Biologicals toward the completion of the Roanoke River Greenway. The gift was the first to be recieved as part of the "Bridging the Gap" campaign, aimed at completing the Greenway segment between the City of Roanoke's Vic Thomas Park and Roanoke County's Green Hill Park by 2013. Greenways Coordinator Liz Belcher said, "This is a great start, and we hope it will encourage other corporations to follow their lead as we work to complete the Roanoke River Greenway". Belcher accepted the donation from Novozymes employee Bob Blankenship on behalf of company president Pat Patterson. Blankenship also serves as Chairman of the Roanoke Valley Greenways Commission as a representative from Roanoke County. For more information, please contact Liz Belcher lbelcher@roanokecountyva.gov
