Roanoke County Tree Lighting - Mon., December 6

Join us for some holiday cheer on Monday at 6:00pm at Green Ridge Recreation Center as we officially begin the holiday season with the lighting of our 25-foot decorated tree. Roanoke County's After School for Kids participants will sing Christmas carols and light refreshments will be served. Stay after the tree lighting for a visit with Santa Claus!

Winter Break Day Camps at Green Ridge!

Need something for the kids to do over the holidays? We're offering two day camps, December 20-23 and Decmeber 27-30. Swimming, game room, gym, trips and more!!! Join us for a week long of non-stop fun at Green Ridge Recreation Center. Kids will enjoy use of Green Ridge facilities as well as high-energy activities led by fun staff and snacks. Please bring a daily lunch, swimsuit, towel and gym shoes. Pre-registration is required. Green Ridge Members will receive an additional $25 discount. Evergreen Wreath Workshop - Next Wed.

Learn to make a natural evergreen wreath with lots of boxwood, cedar, pine, spruce and other great materials. You will also learn how to care for your creation to make it last throughout the holiday season. Includes all supplies for one wreath. Wendesday, December 7 at Green Ridge Recreation Center. Picasso Exhibit Trip Now Enrolling For Feb.

Join us on an exciting day trip to Richmond to see some of Picasso's best known works. In honor of the 75th anniversary, the VMFA presents Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musee National Picasso, Paris. This is the only East Coast venue for the exhibition. This exhibit has 176 pieces of his works and is the largest and most significant collection in the world It represents every major artistic period of Pablo Picasso's eight decade career. Lunch will be at the museum with a Picasso style lunch. Next is a tour of Virginia House constructed from the materials of a sixteenth century English manor house and is a blend of three romantic English Tudor designs. There will be a on your own dinner stop at Shoney's on the return trip home. The fee includes transportation, all tour fees, audio for Picasso exhibit, lunch, and escorts. It's Hot! It's Latin! It's Zumba (pronounced ZOOM-buh)! Zumba is a style of intense dance-aerobics workout with pulsating Latin music.Get lost in the music and dancing while making exercise fun. This class focuses on dance steps and ab work while dancing! Exercise experts say Zumba can offer a good cardio workout. Ten week program.
