Preseason Basketball Clinics Next Weekend

Roanoke County's youth basketball preseason clinics are designed to teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills to children to prepare them for the upcoming recreation season. The clinics are lead by Varisty Boys and Girls coaches from various high schools while numerous high school varsity players provide supporting instruction. Each camp is limited to 75 players to allow for a camper to staff ratio of 5:1. Held at Northside Middle and Hidden Valley High on Saturday and Sunday. Register online Here

Rock Climbing Trip - November 6

Get the experience of real rock climbing with Camp Roanoke's trained guides. You will witness firsthand what it's like to climb the great cliffs Virginia has to offer. The trip includes all equipment, transportation, guides and instruction on climbing technique. No experience necessary. Ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Biltmore Estate Trip - Saturday, Dec. 12

Come along for a day fit for a king on George Vanderbilt's 8,000-acre estate that will be decked out in holiday trim. We will begin the day with wine tasting and a self-guided tour of the grounds. Following that, will be an all-inclusive dinner at the Deerpark Restaurant. At the Deerpark Restaurant's Southern Holiday Buffet Dinner a preview of buffet menu items include Maple Glazed Loin of Pork, Slow Roasted Prime Rib of Beef, Spiced Poached Peel and Eat Shrimp, Brie Baked in Puff Pastry with Nuts and Dried Fruits, and many more gourmet selections. Photo Framing Class - Satrurday, Nov. 13

Join the director of the O. Winston Link museum in a class exploring the basic techniques and equipment required in professionally mounting, matting, framing and presenting your work. The processes of displaying our work can make or break the outsider's impression of it, and the topics discussed in this class are extremely valuable to anyone looking to learn more about the presentation aspect of producing photography and other two-dimensional work.
