Thanksgiving Crafts - SATURDAY at Green Ridge

Stop by Green Ridge on Saturday, November 6 between 11:00am and 1:00pm to enjoy games, a coloring contest and holiday themed arts and crafts. Make a centerpiece for your family's Thanksgiving table (one per family), enter a coloring contest, play pin the tail on the turkey, and decorate a card with a special seasonal message. Daily admission to Green Ridge applies. No additional fee for members.

Basic Principles of Direct Painting - Starts Mon

This class at the Brambleton Center is directed to intermediate painters although it is open to all skill levels. The objective is to equip you with the skills necessary to paint any subject on your own. Composition, drawing, and edges will be addressed along with the principles of light, shadow and value but the main focus will be on color - how to see it and mix it. You will paint a color chart and by the end of the course will be painting a simple still life. Five week program. Register Online Here

They're designer clothes made by talented and thrifty moms, aunts, grandmothers and friends or they're purchased from crafters and specialty stores that feature hand made clothing. You don't need to be a professional seamstress to create wonderful one-of-a-kind wearables. You can start with store-bought (even second-hand) basic pieces then embellish, embroider, trim or change buttons and VOILA! you have a designer fashion for your favorite little one. Preseason Basketball Clinics Next Weekend

Roanoke County's youth basketball preseason clinics are designed to teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills to children to prepare them for the upcoming recreation season. The clinics are lead by Varisty Boys and Girls coaches from various high schools while numerous high school varsity players provide supporting instruction. Each camp is limited to 75 players to allow for a camper to staff ratio of 5:1. Held at Northside Middle and Hidden Valley High on Saturday and Sunday. Register online Here

Rock Climbing Trip - November 6

Get the experience of real rock climbing with Camp Roanoke's trained guides. You will witness firsthand what it's like to climb the great cliffs Virginia has to offer. The trip includes all equipment, transportation, guides and instruction on climbing technique. No experience necessary. Ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
