On June 30 we'll take you to scenic Orange County, nestled in the Piedmont region of Virginia, where you will enjoy a fully guided tour of the residence of the Father of the Constitution. See how an 1820's mansion emerged from the past as some of the nation's best craftsman and artisans peeled back the layers of history and made this a wonderful historic treasure. A special highlight of the day is a guided tour of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. This national historic treasure built in 1833, is where Robert E. Lee worshiped when he was stationed in Orange, VA.and you will the actual pew he sat in and the beautiful Tiffany windows. The bus departs Brambleton Center at 6:30 AM and returns at 6:30 PM; departs Hollins Library at 7:00 AM and returns at 6:00 PM. REConnection Magazine at Libraries Friday

Starting Friday this week you can pick up a copy of the Summer 2009 REConnection Magazine at Brambleton Center, the 419 Roanoke County Library, Hollins Library, Vinton Library, Craig Avenue Recreation Center, or our headquarters at 1206 Kessler Mill Road in Salem. Roanoke County's REConnection Magazine features hundreds of recreation programs and summer camps, plus new information about Green Ridge Recreation Center, opening in January 2010.

Bob Ross Tecnique Workshop Saturday!

Join us Saturday for an introduction to the different techniques used in the Bob Ross method of oil painting. In this workshop you'll learn the oval technique, boats, and calm seas will be the subjects. Also covered will be how to properly load and use a variety of brushes and how to effectively use your palette knife. You will have a completed painting at the end of the workshop.
